This Is Why We Fight | The King Is Dead | The Decemberists
I always enjoy the hidden gems at the end of a tune.
January Hymn | The King Is Dead | The Decemberists
Fitting for a Sunday in January…really digging this album.
Kandi | One Eskimo
another hot one from 2010, really enjoying these London musicians
Laredo | Band of Horses
One of my top tracks from 2010
Here Comes The Breeze | Bring It On | Gomez
Hit 100 degrees in Boise for the first time this year and I’m looking for a little breeze. I’m pretty much a wimp when it comes to heat (dry or humid) even though I grew up in Arizona.
Two Stones in My Pocket | Sleeping on Roads | Neil Halstead
enjoyable dreamy Sunday morning British country/folk tune.
Rocket Man | Chapter 1 - Sandworm Cometh - Early Recordings | My Morning Jacket
Some of their early stuff, great tune.
My Morning Jacket - Rocket Man
Come Talk To Me | Peter Gabriel cover | Bon Iver
I’ve been enjoying Bon Iver on Hypem, really like what he did with this Peter Gabriel cover
One of the items I picked up on Record Store Day was the Bon Iver and Peter Gabriel split 7-inch. While Gabriel’s cover of “Flume” is admirable, it’s Justin Vernon—with banjo and otherworldly vocals in tow—that turns “Come Talk To Me” into an epic and essential piece of pop music. It’s silly how good he can be. (via - Everybody Taste)
The Funeral | Everything All the Time | Band of Horses
I read Band of Horses are touring Europe and the U.S. in April, May, and June 2010. They open for Pearl Jam on their tour of the Midewest and East Coast, beginning May 3rd.
The Great Salt Lake | Everything All The Time | Band of Horses
it’s such a wonderful tune -
Blue Moon Rising | Liquid Skin | Gomez
During my junior college days, I took jazz and classical music appreciation courses. Although I can’t play a musical instrument to save my life, I was taught many things, one was to listen to a single instrument throughout the entire song. What I like about the long, smooth and cool tune of Blue Moon Rising is the drawn out drag on the cigarette (best w/ headphones on) and the wooden percussion of the fish.
