“Vision is by far our most dominant sense…we learn and remember best through pictures, not through written or spoken words” - Dr. John Medina Brain Rules #10 Vision trumps all other senses.
Thanks to Steve Casimiro who eloquently put it this way: The video is an ad for Telluride. It’s an ad, yes, but it more perfectly captures the sweet love affair with skiing than anything else I’ve seen in a long time, and that includes documentary ski movies and magazines. There are a few cliches and some obvious bones thrown to the marketers, but they’re far overshadowed by the sense of wonder and spirit of appreciation that we actually get to ski and to experience places as delightful as Telluride. So kudos to Ben Knight and Felt Soul Media for applying their patient cinematography to skiing and the folks at Telluride who funded the project and trusted that words are unnecessary. There a difference between sharing and selling, and this video proves it.
From Steve Casimiro…this little film by Nathan Steinbauer from Smuggler’s Notch, Vermont, will put you in the wicked wood-bashing driver’s seat. Did I count three waterfall jumps? Schweet. And if the helmetcam perspective is a little wobbly, well, that’s just the Boone’s Farm talking.
Well said and well shot!
Great early season backcountry trip yesterday. This is the top of Pilots Peak looking east with the Sawtooth range off in the distance (center of picture).
